What is Your Signature Color?

Several years ago the book "Color Me Beautiful" by Carole Jackson was all the rage. The idea was that you should choose the colors in your wardrobe and makeup based on your skin tone and natural hair color. Each person belongs to one of four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn.

Winters look best in white and black, as well as bright blues, reds and purples. They typically have naturally dark hair. (Catherine Zeta-Jones, Anne Hathaway, Halle Berry)

Springs look beautiful in peach, egg shell white, coral, turquoise and aqua. Their natural hair color is light brown and "warm" shades of blonde. (Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon)

Summers look best in pastels and clear colors like taupe, lavender, pink and soft yellow. Their natural hair color is light brown and "cool" shades of blonde. (Cameron Diaz, Sarah-Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston)

Autumns wear rich, warm earth tones like poppy, chocolate brown, camel and emerald green. Almost all redheads fall under this season. (Julianne Moore, Cynthia Nixon, Marcia Cross)

So which season are you?

Signs of Spring

It's the first week of spring! Hallelujah! I'm ready for daffodils, green grass, the red robin, kids playing baseball, being able to wash my car, walks in the park, longer days, shorter nights, spring cleaning, umbrellas, kites and Easter Sunday.
Now let's have some "pun" with spring:

Spring chicken
Spring fever
Springer spaniel
Spring into action
It Might as Well Be Spring
Jerry Springer

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Everything you've always wanted to know about St. Patrick's Day but were afraid to ask:

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated by the Irish and Irish at Heart in big cities and small towns alike with parades, "wearing of the green," music and songs, Irish food and drink, and activities for kids such as crafts, coloring and games. Its a time for fun. Some communities even go so far as to dye rivers or streams green!

Historically,St. Patrick's Day is a religious holiday and falls during the Christian season of Lent. The Shamrock (or clover leaf) is an important symbol and was supposedly used by St. Patrick to explain the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirt).

Regards,
Carly

Why do frogs like St. Patrick's Day?
Because they're always wearing green.

Soap

No, I'm not talking about soap operas. I'm talking about Bath and Body Works' collection of scented soaps and lotions. My favorite is Japanese Cherry Blossom. I like the deep cleansing soap with the tiny little exfoliating microspheres
For a fun afternoon, go to your local Bath and Body Works and check out the scents:

Black Raspberry Vanilla
Coconut Lime Verbena
Cucumber Melon
Fresh Market Apple
Midnight Pomegranate
Pink Grapefruit
Brown Sugar & Fig
Mango Mandarin

Looks like a recipe for fruit salad!

Green Eggs and Ham

Do you like green eggs and ham? I do not like them, Sam-I-am

Would you like them here or there?
I would not like them anywhere
I do not like green eggs and ham
I do not like them, Sam-I-am

That's right! This week we celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday! Theodore Seuss Geisel was born March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts. He attended Dartmouth and Oxford, and eventually became a cartoonist. His first children's book was "And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street" (1937).

His other books include "The Cat in the Hat," "Green Eggs and Ham," "Fox in Sox," and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." During his illustrious career, Dr. Seuss received two Academy Awards, two Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award and the Pulitzer Prize.

Honor Dr. Seuss this week by going to the library and reading one of his books!

Every Who down in Who-ville like Christmas a lot...
But the Grinch, who lived just north of Who-ville, did not!
The Grinch hated Christmas! The whole Christmas season!
Now, please don't ask why. No one quite knows the reason.

How many ski instructors does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Nine. One to screw in the light bulb and eight to say "Nice turns!"
